We’re honored to share that a story from the Stories of Women in Fluids career anthology will be featured in APS News.
Dr. Kelli Hendrickson’s chapter, now titled “Leaving MIT,” was adapted from the anthology for publication. The process involved thoughtfully condensing the original piece while preserving the story's core experience and message.
At SOWIF, we believe stories are the foundation for belonging.
When scientists can see real career experiences — including difficult decisions, identity shifts, moments of clarity, and redefining success — it expands what feels possible. Not every career is linear. Not every turning point is visible on a CV. But these moments often shape the scientists we become.
We’re grateful to APS News for helping share this story with the broader physics community and for recognizing that storytelling plays an important role in retention, representation, and community-building in STEM.
